FAV Industrial Condensate Pots & Seal Chambers
FAV Condensate Pots (also known as Seal Pots or Condensate Chambers) are specialized pressure vessels installed in differential pressure (DP) flow measurement lines to catch foreign material, condense steam or hot condensable vapors, and maintain constant, identical liquid head reference columns across impulse lines. Manufactured in accordance with ASME B31.1 (Power Piping) and ASME B31.3 (Process Piping), FAV Condensate Pots are fabricated from seamless pipe (2", 3", 4", and 6" NPS in Sch 40, Sch 80, Sch 160, and XXS) with dish-end closures and are available in 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6-port configurations (Designs Type A through Type F).
Fabricated from seamless carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, or nickel alloy pipe with full-penetration welded dished ends
Standard Pipe Sizes: 2", 3", 4", and 6" NPS (DN 50, DN 80, DN 100, DN 150) in Schedules 40, 80, 160, and XXS
Port Configurations: 2-Port, 3-Port, 4-Port, 5-Port, and 6-Port (Design Types A, B, C, D, E, F per international piping standards)
Process & Instrument Connections: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", and 1" NPT Female, BSPP, Socket Weld, Butt Weld, or ANSI Flanged

Application & Piping Notes
Install condensate pots at identical horizontal elevations relative to the orifice plate taps to guarantee zero static head difference.
Blowdown bottom drain valves periodically during steam startup to purge accumulated line slag and debris.
Function & Application Principles
In steam orifice metering and high-temperature gas measurement loops, hot vapors entering impulse lines can flash into steam or produce uneven condensation levels between the high-pressure and low-pressure legs. This creates false differential pressure readings and destroys transmitter calibration.
FAV Condensate Pots provide a large surface area chamber where steam condenses into water at identical elevations for both sensing lines. They also serve as seal liquid containment vessels in corrosive, viscous, or toxic fluid measurement to isolate the transmitter diaphragm.
Maintains stable liquid reference head to eliminate measurement errors caused by ambient temperature swings
Protects electronic differential pressure transmitters from direct exposure to superheated steam temperatures
Traps heavy particulates, pipe scale, and solids before they can plug sensitive instrument tubing and manifolds
Optional mounting brackets allow secure anchoring to vertical structural pipe racks or wall channels
