ASME B16.9 Buttweld Concentric Reducer

Skyland Concentric Buttweld Reducers connect two pipes of different nominal diameters along a common symmetrical centerline. Specially designed for vertical piping runs, pump discharges, and gas manifold lines, they facilitate gradual fluid velocity transitions with minimal energy loss and turbulence.

Standard compliance: ASME / ANSI B16.9, DIN 2616-2, EN 10253, and MSS SP-75

Size range: Large End 3/4" to 48" NB with Small End reductions down to 1/2" NB

Conical taper angle engineered to prevent flow separation and fluid turbulence

Wall thicknesses: Sch 5S, 10S, 40S, STD, 80S, XS, 120, 160, XXS with matching or unequal schedules

Installation Notes

Concentric reducers should generally be avoided on horizontal pump suction lines to prevent vapor pocket cavitation.

Product Overview & Applications

Concentric reducers are primarily installed on vertical pipe runs and pump discharge nozzles where symmetrical flow distribution is essential to prevent mechanical stress on equipment flanges.
