ASME B16.9 Buttweld 90° Elbow (Long & Short Radius)
Skyland ASME B16.9 90° Buttweld Elbows are the industry standard for directional pipeline changes in oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and water processing facilities. Built to withstand extreme internal pressure, vibration, and thermal expansion, these elbows feature beveled ends per ASME B16.25 for full-penetration butt-welding.
Standard compliance: ASME / ANSI B16.9, BS 1640, DIN 2605, EN 10253-2, MSS SP-75
Available in Long Radius (LR, R=1.5D) and Short Radius (SR, R=1.0D) configurations
Size range: 1/2" to 48" NB (Seamless up to 24", Welded 8" to 48" with 100% X-Ray)
Wall thickness: Sch 5S, 10S, 20, 40S, STD, 80S, XS, 100, 120, 140, 160, XXS

Operational & Design Notes
Long radius 90° elbows are recommended for general process piping to minimize pressure loss.
Short radius 90° elbows are ideal for compact marine engine rooms and modular skid packaging.
Available with hot-dip galvanized or fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) external coatings upon request.
Engineering & Performance Features
The ASME B16.9 90-degree buttweld elbow is the most widely utilized fitting in industrial piping. The Long Radius (1.5D) design reduces fluid frictional resistance and pressure drop, while the Short Radius (1.0D) design provides optimal compact routing in tight plant spaces and equipment skids.
Produced from premium seamless pipe billets or hot-pressed welded plate with 100% radiography on all weld joints. Each fitting is solution-annealed or normalized to ensure maximum mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
