ASME B16.9 Buttweld Reducing Tee (Unequal Tee)

Skyland Buttweld Reducing Tees (Unequal Tees) feature a 90-degree branch with a reduced nominal diameter relative to the main run pipe. Designed for severe service in oil & gas distribution, chemical processing, and power plant cooling lines, each tee is formed with an integrated reinforcement radius at the crotch to withstand intense hydraulic pressure, bending moments, and thermal cycles.

Complies with ASME / ANSI B16.9, DIN 2615-2, EN 10253-2, and MSS SP-75 standards

Main run sizes from 3/4" up to 48" with branch reductions down to 1/2"

Available in seamless forged construction (up to 24") and welded plate construction (up to 48")

Full wall schedule options: Sch 10S, 40S, STD, 80S, XS, 120, 160, XXS on both run and branch

Engineering Guidelines

Reinforced crotch ensures full strength compliance with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes.

Custom heavy-wall branch tees available for severe high-pressure compressor tie-ins.

Engineering Details

Reducing tees eliminate the need for a separate straight tee and reducer assembly, saving space, cutting weld joints by 50%, and reducing total installation labor and potential leak risks.

The extrusion process used by Skyland ensures smooth internal transition radii, preventing eddy currents and flow stagnation in process lines.
